Temperature on still

Reading the temperature on your still was so easy.  I am using a thermocouple type thermometer and it sometimes

gives errors, depending on how well the wire is attached to the goose neck.  I also have an infrared laser thermometer ($20 on amazon) but the reflection on the copper kettle makes it difficult to use.

As you have learned during the seminar, the most accurate point of measuring the temperature is inside, the not-yet- ooled-down steam at it's highest point. This is in the uprising steam pipe, at a hight just below the bottom of the lyne arm. In the book you find a picture of this point.
