Brand spanking new

Hi everyone,

I am brand new at this and it is the 3rd time in a row this has happened. My ABV has been at 15 just before I start distilling but after I distill it is at 0 ABV. What am I doing wrong ? Oh and from what everything I have seen it's supposed to start at around 173 degree's give or take. Mine is more like 197 degrees.

Sorry, your description is ambiguous. However, I'll give it a try... Of course, the alcohol concentration of the kettle content is at highest before you start distilling and decreases in the course of the distillation. BTW, how did you measure the alcohol content? Without distilling a sample, to get rid of the dissolved solid components (mainly sugar), you can't determine the alcohol content precisely, every measuring device delivers wrong data.

The temperature depends on the alcohol content. The lower, the higher the temperature at start. According to your stated temperature, the alcohol concentration of the kettle content must be quite low.
